Guatemaltecos regresan alegres después de ver al papa Francisco

Concluida la misa que ofició el papa Francisco ante unas 90 mil personas en San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas, México, varios de los guatemaltecos que asistieron al acto religioso o lo vieron pasar por las calles de esta ciudad chiapaneca regresan a casa felices y llenos de esperanza.

“Es un personaje con mucha energía, no tengo nada más que agradecer a Dios por dejarme ver a un hombre santo. Valió la pena el viaje, me voy a Guate feliz”, explicó Fernando Valenzuela, quien junto a su familia vio al Pontífice a una cuadra del parque central de San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas, México, ciudad ubicada a 170 kilómetros de la frontera de La Mesilla, en Huehuetenango, Guatemala.

En otro punto del recorrido, Inés Fuentes y sus hijas Isabel y Magda López, quienes esperaron cuatro horas para ver a Francisco, comentaron que luego de verle sintieron una paz interior. “Siempre le pregunté a mi mamá cómo sería ver al papa, sentir esta sensación es indescriptible”, dijo Isabel.

En el Centro Deportivo Municipal donde el papa ofició una misa, varios guatemaltecos relataron que lloraron por la alegría de estar en la ceremonia y ver de cerca a su Santidad.

“Lloré, lloré solo al verlo en la pantalla en el escenario”, “Le grité Francisco y me vio, eso me basta para regresar a Guatemala", relató uno de los asistentes.

En el recinto estuvo una nutrida delegación de guatemaltecos, entre ellos uno de los organizadores, Ricardo Chichilla, quien lloró al ver cuando bajó del helicóptero que lo trasladó de Tuxtla Gutiérrez a San Cristóbal.

Para el huehueteco Jaime Díaz haber visto al papa dejó de ser un sueño. “Me voy satisfecho, feliz de escuchar a un hombre que ama a todos, indígenas, mestizos por igual, es un hombre noble y las palabras son cortas, estoy emocionado”, mencionó.

Este lunes, ancianos, adultos, jóvenes y niños, madrugaron y caminaron hasta el centro deportivo para encontrarse con el papa Francisco.

Decenas de personas pasaron la noche en la calle, bajo una carpa esperando a que abrieran las puertas del lugar donde Francisco habló a más de 90 mil católicos que llegaro de diversos estados de México, de Guatemala y de países vecinos como El Salvador u Honduras.
