Pedro Pérez González, jefe de la subestación de la Policía Nacional Civil (PNC) indicó que el crimen pudo haber sido perpetrado el sábado en la madrugada. Según las primeras pesquisas, los criminales forzaron la puerta de la vivienda.
Pérez informó que Sic tenía varios golpes en el rostro y una herida cortante profunda en el cuello, por lo que se presume que fue golpeado antes de que fuera ultimado.
Familiares de la víctima indicaron que Sic vivía solo, pues sus parientes viven en la aldea Barraneche, Totonicapán, y que desconoce las causas del crimen.
